Research on building truss design based on particle swarm intelligence optimization algorithm

Optimization methodologies are being utilized in various structural designing practices to solve size, shape and topology optimization problems. A heuristic Particle swarm (HPSO) algorithm was anticipated this article order address the size problem of truss with stress displacement constraints. This contributes improvisation structure design rationality while reducing engineering cost by proposing HPSO approach. Primarily, basic principle original PSO is presented, then compression factor established improve algorithm, a reasonable parameter setting value presented. To validate performance proposed approach, experimental illustrations were performed. The results show that convergence history illustration 2 3 optimal. converges after about 150 iterations, however, close optimal solution 500 iterations. Therefore, can successfully optimize structures, also time efficient. improved has good stability, effectively structures.
